Known as the largest and most important sales of its kind, the Coeur d’Alene Art Auction brings collectors and art connoisseurs to downtown Reno July 25 for its annual sale of Classic Western, Wildlife and Sporting Art.  The auction packs the Grand Ballroom of the Silver Legacy Resort in Reno and hauls in millions of dollars.

 

Featured prominently in Forbes Magazine, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times and CBS Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood, the Coeur d’Alene Art Auction has also sold items at world record prices for virtually every major Western Master, along with several 19th and 20th century American Artists, and numerous contemporary Western Artists.

 

This year’s sale features an exceptional collection of paintings by the premier contemporary western artists in the country, along with a number of important paintings by deceased Western Masters and California Impressionists.  Highlights of this year’s sale will include several works by the noted Taos Founders, E.I. Couse, Oscar Berninghaus, E. Martin Hennings, and Joseph Sharp. Important works by Charles M. Russell, Carl Ringius, Frank Tenney Johnson, and E. William Gollings are also set for auction.  One of the most important paintings produced by Noted British marine artist Montague Dawson will also be among the featured works at this year’s sale.

 

A full color catalog will be available for $60 at the door which will admit two people to the event. The Coeur d’Alene Art Auction opens with a preview and cocktail party on Friday, July 24 from 6 to 8PM also at the Silver Legacy Resort, Reno. All of the works will be available for viewing during this reception. On Saturday July 25 from 11AM to 4PM.
